The Role

As an Academic Mentor, you will play a pivotal role in stretching, challenging, and inspiring some of the school's most able students. You will work both independently and alongside experienced teaching staff to deliver high-impact academic support. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering 1:1 and small group mentoring sessions for high-attaining students across KS4 and KS5.
  • Supporting students with Oxbridge and competitive university applications, including personal statements, admissions tests, and interview preparation.
  • Designing and leading super-curricular and enrichment sessions within your subject specialism.
  • Running academic workshops, seminars, and discussion groups to deepen subject knowledge beyond the curriculum.
  • Assisting with extension work for gifted and talented pupils.
  • Supporting classroom teaching where appropriate, particularly with top sets.
  • Contributing to the school's wider academic enrichment programme (e.g. societies, competitions, lecture series).
  • Tracking student progress and providing targeted academic guidance.

Candidate Profile

  • Hold a degree from the University of Oxford or University of Cambridge (2:1 or above).
