We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Secondary SENCo to join our highly successful and inclusive secondary school in East London from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and compassionate leader to play a key role in shaping outstanding SEND provision within a high-performing school environment where inclusion, aspiration and student success are central to everything we do.

As an Outstanding school, we are proud of our commitment to ensuring that every student—regardless of need or background—can thrive academically, socially and emotionally. We are seeking a child-centred leader who will champion inclusion, advocate for students and work collaboratively with families, staff and external agencies to ensure all young people make exceptional progress.

The successful candidate will work closely with an experienced and dedicated Inclusion Team, supporting students with SEND support needs and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) across both mainstream provision and an Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP). You will lead, develop and support effective practice to ensure that students with additional needs receive the highest quality provision and personalised support. This is a strategic and rewarding role for an experienced practitioner who is passionate about inclusive education and committed to ensuring vulnerable learners flourish.

Key Responsibilities

As SENCo, you will:

  • Oversee provision for students with SEND support needs and EHCPs, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met effectively
  • Work collaboratively with senior leaders, pastoral teams, teaching staff, parents and external agencies to secure exceptional outcomes for students with additional needs
  • Develop and coordinate targeted interventions and personalised support programmes for students with a range of learning needs
  • Support high-quality teaching through coaching, guidance and the dissemination of effective inclusive classroom strategies
  • Monitor, analyse and evaluate student progress data to identify barriers to learning and implement impactful interventions
  • Lead transition planning and ensure continuity of support for students joining or moving through the school
  • Promote equality of opportunity and ensure students with SEND are fully included in all aspects of school life
  • Contribute strategically to the continued development of SEND provision across the school
We are looking for a candidate who:
  • Holds the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCo) or is a qualified teacher willing to complete the qualification within the required timeframe
  • Has successful experience of supporting students with SEND in a secondary setting
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice, EHCP processes and inclusive teaching approaches
  • Is passionate about championing vulnerable learners and securing exceptional outcomes
  • Has excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills
