A welcoming and inclusive school in Sandwell is seeking a dedicated Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate who is passionate about education and supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The Role

  • Support students with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language Needs, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to help students access learning and achieve their individual targets.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENDCOs and pastoral staff to deliver tailored support.
  • Build positive relationships that encourage confidence, engagement and independence.
  • Support both academic progress and social-emotional development.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds a 2:1 or higher degree in Psychology, Education, Childhood Studies or a related subject.
  • Has a genuine interest in supporting children and young people with SEND.
  • Demonstrates patience, resilience and excellent communication skills.
  • Can build positive and professional relationships with students and staff.
  • Is considering a future career in education, educational psychology, counselling, therapy or SEND support.
