The Role

This is an excellent opportunity to take your Psychology degree beyond the classroom and develop meaningful practical experience supporting young people.

You will work closely with pupils who may have needs including Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, social and emotional needs, communication difficulties and other additional learning requirements.

Your responsibilities could include:

• Providing targeted 1:1 SEN support

• Delivering small-group interventions

• Supporting pupils with EHCP targets

• Helping pupils regulate emotions and engage with learning

• Monitoring academic, social and behavioural progress

• Supporting strategies recommended by specialist professionals

• Developing pupils' confidence and independence

• Providing academic and pastoral mentoring

• Working closely with the school's SENCO and inclusion team

• Contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment

Who Are KPI Education Looking For?

The ideal candidate will hold a Psychology or closely related degree, ideally at 2:1 or First-Class level.

You may be a recent graduate considering a future career as an:

Educational Psychologist | Clinical Psychologist | SEN Teacher | Speech & Language Therapist | Occupational Therapist | Mental Health Practitioner

Previous SEN or school experience would be beneficial, but it is not essential. The school is more interested in finding graduates who are patient, resilient, academically capable and genuinely motivated to understand how children learn and develop.

Build Your Educational Psychology Experience

Competition for postgraduate Educational Psychology pathways can be extremely strong, making relevant experience with children and young people particularly valuable.

This position will allow you to spend a full academic year developing your understanding of SEN, behaviour, cognition, communication and child development within a real educational environment.

You'll gain experience that goes far beyond a standard Teaching Assistant position while making a measurable difference to the pupils you support.
