About the Role

We are looking for a curious, proactive and hands-on Product Management Intern to support KPay's expansion into the UK market.

As part of the Product team, you'll gain first-hand exposure to how a fintech company researches a new market, understands customer needs, localises products and brings new solutions to market.

You'll work closely with our Product, Sales, Operations and Compliance teams both in the UK and Asia, helping us understand the needs of UK SMEs and translate those insights into actionable product improvements.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is genuinely interested in fintech and payments and wants to learn what it takes to build and launch products in a new market.

What You'll Do

  • Market & Customer Discovery
  • Conduct research on the UK fintech, payments and SME landscape to identify market trends, competitors and emerging opportunities.
  • Support customer and merchant research to understand their needs, pain points and workflows.
  • Gather feedback from Sales, Support and Operations teams and translate insights into potential product opportunities.
  • Help identify gaps between KPay's existing products and the needs of UK merchants.
  • Product Development
  • Support Product Managers in defining product requirements, user stories and feature specifications.
  • Work with Engineering and Design teams to help translate customer needs into practical product solutions.
  • Assist with prioritising product improvements based on customer impact, business value and technical feasibility.
  • Research UK-specific payment methods, merchant workflows, POS solutions and other relevant product requirements.
  • Testing & Launch
  • Support QA and UAT activities to ensure new features work as intended before launch.
  • Help coordinate product launches and rollout activities across Product, Engineering, Sales and Operations.
  • Monitor product performance and merchant feedback after launch and identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist in investigating product issues, documenting bugs and following up with relevant teams.
  • Payments & Regulatory Research
  • Develop an understanding of the UK payments ecosystem, including acquiring, payment gateways, card networks, settlement and chargebacks.
  • Research UK-specific regulatory and compliance considerations, including areas such as FCA requirements, PCI DSS, PSD2 and Open Banking.
  • Support the Product and Compliance teams in understanding how regulatory requirements may affect product design and merchant experience.
  • Product Analysis
  • Analyse product usage, customer feedback and market data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Help prepare product reports, presentations and recommendations for internal stakeholders.
  • Track key product and market metrics and support the team in evaluating product performance.

What We're Looking For

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Information Systems or a related discipline.
  • Genuine interest in fintech, payments, technology and product development.
  • Curious about how payment systems, acquiring, POS and digital commerce ecosystems work.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down ambiguous problems into structured approaches.
  • Proactive and comfortable taking initiative rather than waiting to be told what to do.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to get involved in hands-on work, including research, testing, data analysis and documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working with different stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Sales, Operations and Compliance.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, international environment and collaborate across different time zones.
  • Comfortable learning new concepts quickly and asking thoughtful questions.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets and Power Point/Google Slides. Experience with SQL, analytics or product tools is a plus.
  • Nice to Have
  • Previous internship or project experience in fintech, payments, technology, consulting, e-commerce or Saa S.
  • Familiarity with payment concepts such as acquiring, gateways, MDR, interchange, settlement or chargebacks.
  • Experience conducting market research, customer interviews or competitive analysis.
  • Experience working on product, technology or business projects at university or through extracurricular activities.
  • Experience with tools such as SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Figma, Jira or other product/analytics platforms.
  • Proficiency in additional languages beyond English is a plus.
  • What You'll Gain
  • Hands-on exposure to fintech and payments in a fast-growing international company.
  • Direct experience supporting the launch of a product in a new market.
  • Exposure to the full product lifecycle — from market research and customer discovery to development, testing and launch.
  • Opportunity to work directly with Product, Engineering, Sales, Operations and Compliance teams.
  • Practical understanding of the UK payments and SME ecosystem.
  • Mentorship and exposure to experienced Product and business leaders across KPay.
  • The opportunity to contribute ideas and see your work have a real impact on KPay's UK expansion
