The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, managing a team of Delivery Drivers and Warehouse Operatives. Maximising the storage and efficiency of the warehouse distribution operation by implementing WMS to ensure safe and efficient systems of work, minimise operating costs to improve and support stock and staff utilisation, whilst driving performance KPI’s and delivering Customer Excellence. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all employees, including compliance with all Health and Safety regulations and guidelines. Provide 100% customer satisfaction by providing same day shipment of all customer orders ensuring accuracy, proper packaging using defined transportation methods, internal or freight forwarders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leading and reporting on H&S performance, including ISO9001 management on site, reporting upwards on these to Senior management.
  • Manage and communicate Company policies to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Manage goods received and dispatch by Company vehicles or freight forwarder.
  • Controlling stock inventory to ensure this fulfils service levels of efficiency and safety.
  • Meeting delivery targets fulfilling operational and customer demand, both internal depot transfers and export.
  • Maintain vehicle and mechanical handling equipment service intervals and ensure daily safety checks are completed.
  • Ensuring security arrangements are in place.
  • Scheduling equipment maintenance and replacing when required.
  • Determine staffing levels (agency use) and assign workloads.
  • Conduct periodic and quarterly physical stock checks.
  • Plan, organise, supervise daily warehouse operation activities.
  • Manage and communicate KPI’s and adhere to SLA’s.
  • Implement Continues Improvement Projects to reduce costs, improve performance and customer service.
  • Oversee the Warehouse Team to ensure effective warehouse operations including budgeting, managing all goods inwards, managing all aspects of holding stock in the warehouse.
  • Oversee receipt of stock to inventory to identify error rates and implement corrective actions to improve performance and accuracy.

Specific Tasks

  • Monitor and provide daily KPI figures relating to warehouse department.
  • Train and supervise warehouse staff.
  • Undertake warehouse racking and housekeeping thorough inspections providing monthly reports to the Compliance Dept.
  • Report supplier service issues centrally.
  • Oversee customer returned product including warranty process in adherence with Company procedures.
  • Represent the Department during internal and external ISO audits.
  • Manage the time and attendance on Company system for all direct reports.
  • Carry out incident investigations to provide accurate and detailed reports, taking proactive measures for improvement.
  • Support the HR Department in facilitating investigations, chairing investigative meetings.
  • Drive the WMS to ensure all receipts are completed, all orders are dispatched as per customer promise.
  • Manage all site inventory integrity to maximise available stock availability.

Experience

  • Professional manager with proven record of developing and implementing business goals and objectives, working productively with a wide range of people.
  • Extremely motivated and proactive with strong leadership, motivation and managerial skills.
  • Demonstrated competency in developing and evaluating employees to achieve Company and personal objectives.
  • Demonstrated competency in stock inventory management.
  • Competent use of Microsoft Office Suite and previous experience of Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure, balancing work on several projects simultaneously and prioritising as necessary to meet internal and external deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Management experience.
  • Ability to meet set goals.
  • Proven record of achieving revenue targets.
