We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Operator on behalf of a client in Hortonwood, Telford. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machinery used in fabrication processes, ensuring high-quality output and efficient workflow. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in materials handling, assembly, and tooling.
Initial training will be on days, Monday - Friday, 8am-4pm for a period of roughly two weeks paid at £13.50 per hour. Once completed the hours of work will be Thursday - Sunday 11pm-7am at the increased rate of £14.85 per hour.
Duties
- Set up, operate, and monitor manufacturing machinery.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and adjustments on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Handle materials safely and efficiently, including loading, unloading, and organising components within the factory.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment adhering to safety standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in fabrication, machining, or manufacturing environments.
- Mechanical knowledge including the use of hand tools and materials handling.
- Strong understanding of tooling setup and operation within a manufacturing context.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks.
- Warehouse experience or background in assembly is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
