The Filling Plant Manager is responsible for leading the day‐to‐day operation of the bottling lines, ensuring that production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This is a hands‐on, floor‐based role where the Manager is expected to work alongside the production team—setting up machines, assisting with changeovers, troubleshooting minor issues, and maintaining smooth line operation throughout the shift. The role requires a proactive leader who is just as comfortable operating equipment as managing people.

In addition to overseeing production, the Manager will also manage stock control for raw materials, packaging components, and finished goods, ensuring all materials are available as required to meet production plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise all bottling line operations to meet production schedules.
  • Monitor machine performance, changeovers, and downtime to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Work with maintenance teams to minimise unplanned downtime and improve line reliability.
  • Ensure proper setup, operation, and shutdown of all bottling equipment.
  • Maintain accurate production records.
  • Hands‐on approach with the ability to operate, adjust, and support as part of the production team.
Management
  • Manage and support bottling operators, packers, and production assistants.
  • Lead by example, promoting teamwork, accountability, and a positive work culture.
  • Assign daily tasks and ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Conduct on‐the‐job training and ensure all team members follow standard operating procedures.
Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure all products meet quality, packaging, and labelling specifications.
  • Perform in‐process checks, implementing corrective actions as required.
  • Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained.
Efficiency & Continuous Improvement
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste and increase line efficiency.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to team problem‐solving.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Previous experience in a production line based manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or line management.
  • Strong understanding of production processes, efficiencies, quality control.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot production issues and make quick, sound decisions.
