KPA Electrical Ltd are a high-quality provider of electrical installation services, specialising in commercial electrical works. While our primary focus is on commercial installations, we cover a broad spectrum of electrical services, ranging from initial design stages through to commissioning and labour-only contracts. Our portfolio includes office fitouts (to Cat A & B), hospitals, schools, colleges, industrial warehouses, and high-end residential projects.
Our office is based in Rochester, however 95% of our projects are located within London. The role will involve a mix of office and on-site responsibilities.
Job Overview:
We are seeking Electrical Quantity Surveyorto manage the financial and contractual aspects of electrical installations in construction projects.This role involves estimating, quotes, preparing tender documents, monitoring project progress, Variation quotes, add/omits on new revisions of design, procurement, procurement schedules and ensuring compliance with regulations and contracts.The right person would play a crucial role in cost control, risk management, and value engineering throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed cost estimation and budgeting for projects.
- Prepare, submit and negotiate tenders for new projects and contribute to the bidding process.
- Ensure adequate LOI or PO in place before work starts.
- Produce buying schedule in conjunction with PM.
- Assess and analyse project specifications, designs, and drawings to create accurate cost forecasts.
- Procure Subcontract packages, approve sub-contract orders ensuring compliance with specification, drawings and employment requirements.
- Prepare and submit client applications accurately and in a timely manner.
- Manage project correspondence and meeting attendance.
- Ensure monthly applications are certified on time and invoiced as appropriate.
- Manage and agree contract instructions and variations.
- Submit and agree client variations and manage change request process.
- Carry out add and omits as and when new revisions are issued.
- Produce detailed take offs, understand and read design drawings.
- Ensure compliance with contractual procedures and agreed scope of works, issuing all contractual notifications for any changes to the agreed contract.
- Prepare, submit and agree the client final account.
- Conclude subcontract accounts.
- Risk Management- work with the Project Manager to produce and maintain risk and opportunity registers.
- Maintaining continuous professional development (CPD) keeping up to speed with new and likely changes which could affect the Quantity Surveying of future projects.
Experience and Knowledge Required:
- Must have electrical experience.
- Ideally come from a electrical install contractor background.
- Required experience on commercial, healthcare, office, warehouse projects.
- QS degree desirable, but not essential.
- Experience minimum of 5 years.
- Location will be split between office in Kent and site based London

- Strong commercial and contractual knowledge/understanding including contract law, profit and loss, adjudication, variations and extensions of time.

Salary & Benefits:
- £80,000 per annum (negotiable depending on experience)
