KorumLegal is looking for an experienced Technology & Product Counsel to join our panel of legal professionals for a 6-month full-time contract assignment, with the possibility of extention. In this role, the Legal Consultant will support a leading global technology and professional services organization, advising on software, data, cloud, and AI-enabled products. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys working at the intersection of law, technology, and innovation within a fast-paced global environment.
This assignment is expected to commence as soon as possible, and candidates who are available to start within a short notice period will be strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
You will provide practical legal risk assessments and strategic advice on software and AI-related products, helping business and product teams bring solutions to market in a legally compliant manner. You will collaborate closely with legal subject matter experts and business stakeholders to evaluate new technologies, data sources, regulatory requirements, and product use cases across multiple jurisdictions. The role also involves developing guidance materials, playbooks, templates, and training for commercial and product teams, supporting product-related contracting matters, conducting legal research, and driving process improvement initiatives. Additionally, you will work with cross-functional teams including intellectual property, privacy, regulatory, commercial contracting, and strategic partnerships professionals.
Requirements
The ideal candidate is a qualified lawyer with at least 5 years' post-qualification experience gained in a reputable law firm and/or multinational corporation, preferably advising on software, SaaS, cloud services, technology transactions, and AI-related matters. Experience drafting and negotiating technology-focused agreements, including software licensing, SaaS, cloud services, software development, and data licensing agreements, is highly desirable. A strong understanding of intellectual property, data privacy, open-source software licensing, and product development considerations is preferred. Candidates should possess excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, strong commercial judgment, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams in a global environment. Fluent English communication skills are essential.
