Overview

We are looking for a motivated and self-starting IT Support Specialist to join our IT Operations team. The ideal candidate will have experience providing both in-office and cloud-based IT support, ensuring seamless operations across all technology platforms.

Location: Office Based Bournemouth

Working hours: Monday to Friday 09:00–17:30

Key responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for hardware, software, and networking issues for on-site and remote employees.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to desktop systems, laptops, printers, and other office IT equipment.
  • Assist users with Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Manage and support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Teams Phone System.
  • Assist with the configuration and troubleshooting of Teams telephony, including call routing and device setup.
  • Collaborate with vendors or external support as needed for advanced Teams Phone System issues.
  • Perform basic network troubleshooting, including connectivity issues, Wi-Fi configuration, and VPN support.
  • Set up user accounts, hardware, and access to necessary tools for new employees.
  • Decommission and secure IT equipment and accounts for departing staff in compliance with organizational policies.
  • Follow security best practices to ensure the protection of corporate systems and data.
  • Perform routine maintenance, updates, and patches for supported devices and systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of support requests, resolutions, and system configurations.
  • Create and update user guides and provide training to end users as needed.

Key Skills & Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in an IT support role, providing both hardware and software support, including experience with Intune MDM for managing and troubleshooting device compliance.
  • Experience with Intune Mobile Device Management (MDM) for supporting and troubleshooting end-user compliance issues.
  • Experience with troubleshooting hardware issues for desktops, laptops, and office peripherals.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 services, including Teams and Teams Phone System (experience configuring call routing and devices is an asset).
  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic networking.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory and Azure AD for user management.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to assist non-technical users.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, managing multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and take initiative in solving complex challenges.
