We are seeking a Workday HCM functional specialist to support Korn Ferry sales partners in designing solutions that integrate Korn Ferry technology into Workday, including apps built on Workday Extend. In this role, you will apply your understanding of Workday HCM configuration, business processes, and downstream module impacts to help shape solution approaches that meet client needs.
About the Role
You will serve as a functional advisor, guiding internal teams on how configuration choices, business rules, and data structures in Workday HCM influence integration design and how they affect modules such as Recruiting, Performance, Talent, and Career Hub. This role focuses on translating Workday functional knowledge into practical solution guidance that enables scalable, compatible integrations—including technical architecture. This is a remote role with occasional travel (typically less than 10%) to support sales pursuits, client scoping workshops, and/or internal alignment as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Support sales, product, and partner teams in positioning Korn Ferry’s Built on Workday Extend applications across Korn Ferry’s digital solutions including Profile Manager, Assessments, and Pay.
- Translate client business goals into Workday-aligned solution narratives, explaining how Korn Ferry IP is embedded and consumed within the Workday ecosystem and articulating added client value.
- Serve as the architectural voice in client conversations, demos, workshops, and solution validation sessions.
- Lead pre‑sales solution design by translating client‑specific value drivers into a cohesive Workday‑aligned architecture that maximises the impact of Korn Ferry Built on Workday applications, while driving cross‑functional alignment across Product, Sales, Consulting, Delivery, and Partner teams throughout the sales and RFP process.
- Advise on Workday configuration considerations (e.g., job architecture, job profiles, skills, competencies, rating scales, business processes) that affect the successful use of Korn Ferry applications.
- Clearly articulate downstream implications of Workday business rule decisions on Korn Ferry content, data flows, delivered reports and dashboards, and talent outcomes.
- Help clients understand what must be in place vs. configurable vs. constrained when leveraging standardised Built on Workday apps.
- Explain how Korn Ferry intellectual property—such as Success Profiles, skills taxonomies, assessments, and pay frameworks—is mapped to and activated within Workday functionality.
- Ensure solution designs preserve the integrity, defensibility, and scientific grounding of Korn Ferry IP while aligning with Workday’s data model and guardrails.
- Partner with product teams to represent client and field feedback on IP usage within Workday ecosystem.
- Collaborate with Workday, system integrators, and internal Korn Ferry teams to ensure consistent architectural messaging and expectations.
- Review proposed client solution approaches to confirm alignment with Built on Workday standards, app capabilities, and product roadmap.
- Help reduce delivery risk by setting clear expectations during the sales cycle—without owning implementation execution.
Scope and Focus
- A pre‑sales and solution advisory role focused on architecture, implications, and positioning.
- Deeply knowledgeable about Workday configuration and data models.
- A bridge between Korn Ferry IP, Workday platform realities, and client outcomes.
- Not a hands‑on Workday configurator or implementer.
- Not responsible for building integrations, configuring tenants, or running deployments.
- Not an AMS or post‑production support role.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience working with Workday in a solution architecture, lead advisory, or senior consulting capacity.
- Strong understanding of Core HCM, Job Profiles, Job Architecture, Compensation, and Talent‑related modules.
- Working knowledge of how Workday business processes, rules, and security models influence downstream use cases.
- Experience explaining or designing solutions that combine platform configuration with external IP or content.
- Ability to communicate complex architectural concepts clearly to non‑technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Workday Extend or Built on Workday marketplace applications.
- Familiarity with skills‑based talent strategies, assessments, performance, succession, or rewards solutions in Workday.
- Background in pre‑sales, product advisory, or partner‑facing roles.
- Experience working alongside system integrators or Workday partner ecosystems.
- Exposure to human resource‑related intellectual property and talent functions: success profiles (competencies, skills, etc.), assessments, job architecture, or pay frameworks.
- Experience with additional HCM functionality (e.g. SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle, etc.).
