Korn Ferry are looking for a contractor/freelance consultant to join a project with a client.

Basic info:

  • Hybrid position (2 days per week onsite in London)
  • 6 month initial contract, expected 12m+ engagement
  • Daily rates in GBP OUTSIDE OF IR35

Summary:

The role is a Lead Platform Engineer that will be leading a platform support function on GCP initially for an existing Data Science environment hosted in GCP. Role scope includes the following:

Scope includes support and maintenance activities such as, but not limited to:

  • Performing updates to Terraform code as required by support activities
  • Security patching and vulnerability remediation
  • Problem investigation and resolution
  • Minor application updates such as updating dependency versions and bug fixing
  • Maintaining existing and adding new data connections
  • Rotating certificates and secrets where required
  • Deployment of service control and configuration policies where required
  • Maintaining Azure Devops deployment pipelines (for both platform changes and applications)
  • Interaction with customer teams such as the networking team where required to resolve issues

  • Experience deploying, implementing and configuring services and resources in GCP:
  • Secret Manager
  • GCS
  • BigQuery
  • Cloud Run Services/Functions/Containers
  • Compute Engine
  • Redis Managed Service
  • Earth Engine
  • Vertex AI
  • Cloud Networking & Shared VPC
  • Experience supporting & maintaining production infrastructure
  • Strong experience with typical production support activities (dependency updates, vulnerability patching, environment enhancements etc.)
  • Fluent in Terraform for Infrastructure as code language
  • Deep knowledge of Devops and CI/CD processes for infrastructure changes (promote to production)
  • Azure Devops & Azure pipelines experience
  • Expert knowledge of Version Control and typical branching strategies such as mainlining/gitflow etc.
  • Someone who can lead a team and has done so before.
  • Someone who can think on their feet, solve problems they haven't solved before and share new ideas, concepts etc.
