- Provide day-to-day project controls and support to Programme and Project Managers.
- Create, maintain and monitor project plans using Microsoft Project.
- Track project and workstream delivery against agreed plans, milestones and deadlines.
- Maintain and oversee risks, issues, actions and dependencies.
- Monitor project budgets, tracking actual costs against allocated budgets and producing regular financial reports.
- Support supplier orders, invoices and wider project financial administration.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, governance packs and reporting.
- Coordinate project and programme meetings, including agendas, minutes and action tracking.
- Chase and challenge stakeholders on outstanding actions and delivery progress.
- Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support project governance and ensure appropriate processes and controls are followed.
- Represent Project Managers at meetings when required. We are looking for an experienced Project Control Officer (PCO) to support a portfolio of projects within a large, complex and highly regulated organisation., Previous experience as a Project Control Officer, Project Controls Analyst, PMO Analyst, Project Support Officer or similar.
- Experience supporting large projects, programmes or multiple concurrent projects.
- Strong project planning and scheduling experience using Microsoft Project.
- Good project financial management skills, including budget tracking, actuals, forecasting and reporting.
- Experience managing risks, issues, actions and project governance.
- Strong Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- APM Fundamentals, PRINCE2 Foundation/Practitioner or equivalent project management qualification.
- Must currently hold active SC Security Clearance.
Desirable
- Previous experience within central government, public sector, defence or another highly regulated environment.
- Experience with Oracle or similar financial management systems.
