Job Description

  • Location: London - Hybrid, 2 days per week onsite
    Rate: Up to £375 per day - Inside IR35
  • Type: Contract

We are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer to support a major financial services organisation with a programme of enterprise application upgrades, migrations and platform refreshes.

The role will focus on upgrading applications across Windows and Linux environments, while developing automation to make future upgrades and deployments more efficient and repeatable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver application upgrades, migrations and platform refreshes.
  • Administer enterprise applications across Windows and Linux.
  • Develop automation using Power Shell, Bash, Python and/or Ansible.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD deployment pipelines.
  • Troubleshoot application, Middleware and infrastructure issues.
  • Support Infrastructure as Code and Dev Ops best practices.
  • Maintain technical documentation and operational runbooks.
  • Key Requirements
  • Strong Windows and Linux application administration experience.
  • Proven experience delivering application/platform upgrades in production.
  • Strong Scripting/automation skills - Power Shell, Bash and/or Python.
  • Experience with Ansible or similar configuration management tooling.
  • Experience with application Servers, Middleware and databases.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • CI/CD pipeline experience.
