We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista/Waitress to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest service, preparing and serving beverages, coffee and food items, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all customers. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for hospitality, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience as a barista in a restaurant or café is required; we're looking for someone who won't need training. Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring quality standards are met.
- Take orders accurately from guests and relay them efficiently to the kitchen or barista station.
- Serve food items promptly and courteously, maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness.
- Provide exceptional guest service by greeting customers warmly, answering questions about menu items, and upselling products where appropriate.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the service area, including tables, counters, and equipment.
- Follow food safety procedures at all times to ensure hygiene standards are upheld.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed, supporting kitchen staff during busy periods.
- Manage multiple tables or orders simultaneously with effective time management skills to ensure prompt service.
- Handle cash transactions accurately using the POS system and process payments efficiently.
- Contribute positively to team efforts by supporting colleagues during busy shifts.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a cafe or restaurant service is essential; enthusiasm for learning is key.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and basic food preparation techniques is desirable.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively in a busy environment.
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately.
- Ability to work flexibly across shifts, including weekends and evenings if required.
- A proactive attitude with excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour.
