About The Role: We are seeking a proactive and analytical Senior Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and interpreting the global regulatory landscape for derivatives. You will play a critical part in ensuring the firm understands and anticipates regulatory changes, assessing their impact on our business, and translating those requirements into actionable solutions with our technology partners. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of regulations, financial products, and technology at a leading global vendor.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor the Regulatory Horizon: Actively track and analyze regulatory developments, proposed rules, final rules, and guidance from key global regulators, including the CFTC, SEC, ESMA (EMIR), UK FCA (MiFID II), Canadian provincial regulators, ASIC (Australia), and MAS (Singapore).
- Conduct Impact Assessments: Perform detailed analysis of regulatory changes to determine their potential impact on the firm's derivatives trading desks, operations, technology, and control functions.
- Translate Regulation into Requirements: Lead the process of gathering and documenting business requirements based on regulatory mandates. Write detailed specifications and user stories for technology teams to build and implement compliant solutions.
- Liaise with Technology Teams: Serve as a key subject matter expert for development teams. Review technical designs, clarify requirements throughout the software development lifecycle, and participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure solutions fully meet regulatory objectives.
- Synthesize & Communicate: Produce clear, concise, and actionable intelligence reports, summaries, and presentations for a variety of audiences, from senior management to implementation teams.
- Data-Driven Analysis: Perform data‑driven analysis to model the potential impact of regulatory changes using tools such as Microsoft Excel or other data analytics platforms. Query and analyze data from relational databases using SQL to support your findings.
- Collaborate Cross‑Functionally: Partner with Legal, Compliance, Front Office, Technology, and Operations to provide subject matter expertise and advise on the practical implementation of new regulatory requirements.
- Manage Regulatory Change: Contribute to the regulatory change management lifecycle, using tools like Jira to track the progress of implementation projects stemming from new rules.
- A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Law, Business, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the institutional financial services industry, with a strong preference for experience at a large sell‑side investment bank and post‑trade processing.
- In‑depth knowledge of major global derivatives trade reporting regulations (e.g., Dodd‑Frank, EMIR, MiFID II/MiFIR, and rules from Canadian, Australian, and Singaporean regulators).
- Proven experience gathering and writing business requirements, functional specifications, or user stories, and reviewing them with software developers and technology partners.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving skills with a high proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using tools like Microsoft Excel or equivalent analytics software.
- A solid understanding of relational databases and the ability to write basic to intermediate SQL queries.
- Hands‑on experience with modern data and workflow management platforms such as Airtable, Databricks, and Jira.
- Direct experience in a regulatory intelligence, regulatory change management, or compliance advisory role with a technology focus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex topics into clear and understandable insights for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- A self‑starter attitude with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
