Working in partnership with the NHS, we are already the UK’s largest digital mental health platform for young people aged 10-25.

Role Objective:

The Clinical and Safeguarding Specialist is a key member of the clinical team, involved in reporting, data collation, safeguarding, clinical governance, clinical education and continuous improvement. Collaborating closely with the leadership team, the focus is on delivering high-quality clinical, safeguarding and clinical education support, and fostering relationships with external partners.

Clinical Governance & Safeguarding:

  • Assist the Clinical & Safeguarding Team in all procedural, policy, and administrative duties.
  • Champion safeguarding, excellence in clinical work, clinical training, and welfare across Kooth.
  • Support staff working directly with users, including some focus on our face-to-face teams.
  • Support audit review processes, providing feedback to workers from clinical audit cycles.
  • Provide specialist advice and support to staff working in our services.
  • Contribute to the development of specific projects and working groups.
  • Identify and report to the Head of Department any practice areas or systems which place Kooth at risk.
  • Participate in On-Call responsibilities out of office hours (experience dependent).
  • Maintain accurate, detailed and up-to-date records and in-house documentation.
  • Provide support to ensure that clinical and safeguarding policies and procedures are in place.

Clinical Education:

  • Guide service delivery staff through the full Learner Journey.
  • Deliver and coordinate clinical education activities.
  • Ensure clinical education is evidence-informed and practice-led.
  • Use quality intelligence to continuously improve education.
  • Maintain smooth delivery by keeping accurate learning records.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Support Head of Department with commissioner requests and contractual requirements.
  • Attend briefings/meetings to represent the clinical team.
  • Respond to requests for access to records and/or data.

Analysis, Reporting & Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that all reporting demonstrates robust clinical and safeguarding procedures.
  • Act as a point of contact for arranging requests for any data relating to clinical functions.
  • Support with activities related to quality improvement and quality assurance.

Management & Leadership:

  • Provide guidance and support to staff, as a specialist leading in clinical, safeguarding and educational practices.

Requirements:

  • Professional qualification in a relevant field (psychology, education, nursing, social work, counselling).
  • Professional registration with relevant body.
  • Minimum of three years’ post-qualification experience with children, young people and vulnerable adults.
  • Trained to a minimum of L4 Safeguarding in children and adults.
  • Substantial experience providing Safeguarding advice and guidance within a health and social care setting.
