Role Objective
We are seeking an ambitious, part-qualified Finance Professional (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) to join our team in a pivotal hybrid role. This position serves as the bridge between core financial accounting and strategic commercial analysis. The successful candidate will take significant ownership of the month-end close while contributing to Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) workstreams. This is an ideal career step for a graduate with a strong academic record who is eager to transition into a role with tangible commercial impact and end-to-end process responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts, board slide creation, key balance sheet reconciliations and the preparation of journal entries.
- Investigating variances against budget and providing insights to budget owners and the senior finance team.
- Create relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders around the business to gather relevant information and ensure accurate financial data and analysis.
- Maintaining the capex workbook, overseeing amortisation schedules and working with our Product and Engineering teams to ensure timecard accuracy.
- Assisting with VAT returns and ensuring compliance with UK statutory requirements.
- Identifying and implementing efficiencies within the finance function, particularly around automation and reporting tools.
- Providing documentation and explanations for year-end audit queries.
Requirements
- Part Qualified (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) with a clear timeline for qualification.
- Experience: experience in a finance environment (Professional Services or Fast-Growth sectors preferred).
- Technical Skills: Strong Excel skills (XLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, SumIfs) and experience with accounting software.
- Attributes: A proactive "self-starter" with high attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with non-finance stakeholders.
