Overview Job Title: Emotional Wellbeing PractitionerReports to: Team ManagerDirect Reports: NoneHours: 35 hours per week or 26 hours per weekStart date: February and MarchContract: 6 month contracts (at this time)Location: Fully remote. Working hours are between 12.00pm to 10.00pm, with Saturday 5.00pm to 10.00pm**Subject to role requirementsKooth is a fast-growing business with a social purpose. Working in partnership with the NHS, we are the UK\’s largest digital mental health platform for young people aged 10-25.We use the collective insight from over one million hours of professional support to guide people to self-help, community support, and professional help that matches their needs and goals.Role Objective Offer digital emotional well-being support to children and young people, and moderate service user content to ensure the online community is a safe and confidential environment.Main Responsibilities Offering digital emotional wellbeing support to CYPProviding text-based online support and advice to children and young people within the iThrive Clinical & Operational modelAssessing and management of risks and needs of each person you speak toAdequately signposting and referringProvide support through drop-in chats and messaging to help with physical, emotional and mental health issues and distressModeration of service user submitted content, journals and goalsModerating service users submitted content following policies and proceduresModerating journals and goalsAssessing and initial risk management of content, journals and goalsAdequately signposting and encouraging engagement relevant to presenting issuesPerforming all duties in line with relevant compliance, legal requirements and internal policies with particular reference to safeguarding and data protection legislationCreating content to promote peer supportCreate content to encourage peer-to-peer support following guidance on planned themes and topicsFollowing a schedule to ensure content meets deadlinesEnsure content meets Kooth community boundaries and follows policies and proceduresFacilitate, support and moderate Live ForumsSupport, moderate and facilitate live forumsWork in partnership with other moderators undertaking the different rolesAssess and manage risk of service users presenting with safeguarding concerns during a live forum, ensuring correct policies and procedures are followed where necessaryAttending in-house clinical support and trainingAttend and effectively contribute to internal clinical supportCommit to mandatory in-house training and continuing professional development opportunitiesAttending management supervision and meetingsAttend and effectively contribute to team meetings and other key organisational meetingsAttend and effectively contribute to management supervision to review clinical work and performance against KPIsMaintain accurate information about shift duties and activity via the scheduling and rota systemRequirements EssentialDegree in a relevant subject (youth work, social care, mental health nursing, counselling, social work, psychology) or equivalent professional qualification; or qualified by experience with significant demonstrable professional training in Mental Health support and engaging people around emotional well-being or mental health difficultiesWorking knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies and legislationDesirableA relevant professional mental health qualification and demonstrable experienceOngoing specialist training in Mental HealthSuicide Prevention and Self-Harm Mitigation TrainingSafeguarding and risk management interventions trainingTraining in Child ProtectionPersonal and Clinical SkillsKnowledge of moderating service user submitted contentKnowledge of benefits and constraints of an anonymous digital online communityAbility to review and edit submitted content to meet community boundariesAbility to recognise and respond to equality, diversity and inclusion issues in content and online supportEffective language and communication with colleagues and service usersAbility to recognise safeguarding concerns in content, journals and goalsKnowledge of practitioner self-care and well-beingAbility to identify and respond to risk when moderating contentKnowledge of signposting pathwaysAbility to engage with service users through messaging about presenting issuesAbility to research topic areas when creating contentAbility to use clinical supports for online workingRisk management skillsWorking Hours Contracts of 26 hours or 25 hours (35 hours is full-time)The service runs from 12pm to 10pm (Mon – Fri) and 6pm – 10pm (Sat – Sun); all rota options will sit within opening times and include weekend work (Friday, Saturday, Sunday 5-10pm).
