This After School Club Childcare Playwork Assistant role is part time, term time only, working Monday to Thursday from 2.50 - 6.00pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively and enthusiastically assist the After School Club Manager in the safe and organised running of the After School Club at Knaphill Lower School, Woking (GU21)
- Help set up, organise and deliver a range of activities daily and pro‑actively encourage children to participate
- Assist in the preparation, serving and tidying away of 'snack time'
- Have awareness of, and maintain sensitivity for, any children with additional needs (Physical, Behaviour, Dietary)
- Develop strong relationships with all children at the After School Club ensuring every child has as much FUN at the club as possible
- Actively develop a thorough understanding of relevant Ofsted standards & KOOSA Kids internal policies & procedures, including safeguarding
- Ensure all activity areas are left clean and tidy at the end of each day
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- You will have a passion / interest in working within a childcare, early years or playwork setting
- Have a fun and energetic nature
- Be reliable and able to effectively communicate with colleagues and children alike
- Be able to relate and engage with children aged between 4 - 11 years
- Opportunities to gain qualifications and further growth & development, will be available for candidates who match our ambitions
- Full training and inductions will be provided to all After School Club Assistants
- This role would suit somebody with experience of working in a Primary School, Pre‑School or Nursery, e.g. a Teaching Assistant, Early Years Educator or Nursery Assistant, or someone looking to move into the childcare industry
