About the Role

We are recruiting After School Club Childcare Playwork Assistants at our new after school club at Lovelace Primary School in Chessington, anticipated to open in February 2026. These part‑time positions are term‑time only, Monday to Friday from 2.45pm to 6.00pm.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the After School Club Manager in the safe and organised running of the club.
  • Help set up, organise and deliver a range of activities daily and proactively encourage children to participate.
  • Assist in the preparation, serving and tidying away of snack time.
  • Have awareness of and maintain sensitivity for children with additional needs (Physical, Behaviour, Dietary).
  • Develop strong relationships with all children to ensure every child has as much FUN at the club as possible.
  • Actively develop a thorough understanding of relevant Ofsted standards and KOOSA Kids internal policies & procedures, including safeguarding.
  • Ensure all activity areas are left clean and tidy at the end of each day.

Skills & Experience

  • Passion / interest in working within a childcare, early years or playwork setting.
  • Fun and energetic nature.
  • Reliability and effective communication with colleagues and children alike.
  • Ability to relate and engage with children aged between 4 - 11 years.
  • Opportunities to gain qualifications and further growth & development will be available for candidates who match our ambitions.
  • Full training and inductions will be provided to all After School Club Assistants.

This role would suit someone with experience of working in a Primary School, Pre‑School or Nursery, such as a Teaching Assistant, Early Years Educator or Nursery Assistant, or someone looking to move into the childcare industry.

Monday – Friday 2.45pm – 6.00pm, term‑time only.
