We are recruiting for an After School Club Childcare Playwork Assistant at Talavera Junior School.
Role Summary
Part‑time, term‑time only, working Monday to Thursday from 3.05 pm to 6.00 pm. Assist the After School Club Manager and other assistants in running the club safely and engaging children aged 4–11. Deliver playwork activities such as arts & crafts, sports, team games, and other enrichment activities, ensuring a safe and secure environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the After School Club Manager in the safe and organised running of the club.
- Set up, organise and deliver a range of activities daily, encouraging participation.
- Assist in the preparation, serving and tidying after snack time.
- Maintain awareness and sensitivity for children with additional needs (physical, behavioural, dietary).
- Build strong relationships with all children, ensuring they have as much fun as possible.
- Understand relevant Ofsted standards, KOOSA Kids policies and procedures, including safeguarding.
- Ensure all activity areas are left clean and tidy at the end of each day.
Skills & Experience
- Passion or interest in working within a childcare, early years or playwork setting.
- Fun and energetic nature.
- Reliability and effective communication with colleagues and children.
- Ability to relate and engage with children aged 4–11.
- Opportunities for qualification and development will be available for suitable candidates.
- Full training and inductions will be provided.
Hours
Monday to Thursday from 3.05 pm to 6.00 pm.

Requirements
Suitable candidates may have experience working as a teaching assistant, early years educator or nursery assistant, or a desire to move into the childcare industry.
