KOOSA Kids are fully Ofsted registered, offering high-quality childcare, playwork and children’s activities. We are recruiting an After School Club Childcare Playwork Assistant to support our club at King Athelstan Primary School.

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 2:55pm – 6:00pm, term-time only.

Role: As a Playwork Assistant you will assist the Club Manager and other Assistants in the safe and organised running of the club whilst actively supporting and engaging children aged 4–11. You will help deliver playwork activities such as arts & crafts, sports and team games, ensuring a safe and enriching environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Club Manager in safe and organised club running.
  • Set up, organise and deliver a range of activities daily and encourage participation.
  • Prepare, serve and tidy up snack time.
  • Maintain sensitivity for children with additional needs (physical, behavioural, dietary).
  • Build strong relationships with all children, ensuring they have fun.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of Ofsted standards & KOOSA Kids policies, including safeguarding.
  • Keep activity areas clean and tidy at the end of each day.

Skills & Experience:

  • Passion or interest in childcare, early years or playwork setting.
  • Fun and energetic attitude.
  • Reliable and can communicate effectively with colleagues and children.
  • Able to engage children aged 4–11.
  • Opportunities to gain qualifications and further training will be provided.
  • Full training and induction for all Assistants.
  • Experience in a Primary School, Pre-School, Nursery or as a Teaching Assistant/Early Years Educator is desirable.
