KOOSA Kids are now recruiting for an After School Club Childcare Playwork Assistant at our club at our club at The Heights Primary School in Caversham Heights, Reading (RG4).
This role is a part time, term time only role, working Monday to Thursday 2.55 – 6.00pm.
The role
As an After School Club Assistant, you will actively and enthusiastically assist the After School Club Manager in the safe and organised running of the After School Club.
Following direction from the After School Club Manager, you will assist in the delivery of the scheduled programme of activities, whilst providing a safe and secure environment for the children in your care. Enabling them to explore, grow and have FUN!
Responsibilities
- Actively and enthusiastically assist the After School Club Manager in the safe and organised running of our After School Club at The Heights Primary School in Caversham Heights, Reading (RG4).
- Assist in the preparation, serving and tidying away of \’snack time\’
- Have awareness of, and maintain sensitivity for, any children with additional needs (Physical, Behaviour, Dietary)
- Actively develop a thorough understanding of relevant Ofsted standards & KOOSA Kids internal policies & procedures, including safeguarding
- Ensure all activity areas are left clean and tidy at the end of each day
- Would suit somebody with experience of working in a Primary School, Pre-School or Nursery, e.g. a Teaching Assistant, Early Years Educator or Nursery Assistant, or someone looking to move into the childcare industry
Skills & Experience
- You will have a passion for or interest in working within a childcare, early years or playwork setting
- Be inspirational, bringing fun and creativeness to the team
- Have a fun and energetic nature
- Be reliable and passionate over everything else
- Be able to relate and engage with children aged between 4 – 11 years
- Be a people person with fantastic communication skills
- Have the ability to motivate others to deliver to the highest standard
- Have the ability to be cleared for an enhanced DBS check

- Full training and inductions will be provided to all After School Club Assistants
