About the Role
We are looking for someone with demonstrable experience in turning around failing product teams. You'll need to work at pace whilst taking a lightweight, collaborative approach.
Responsibilities
- Conduct discovery within first two weeks to identify team constraints, delivery bottlenecks, and immediate risk areas
- Develop action plan addressing identified issues with clear priorities and quick wins
- Establish lightweight metrics to track team health and delivery improvement
- Identify and mitigate late-stage delivery risks before they impact go-live
- Turn around underperforming product teams through coaching and hands-on support
- Lift capability of internal teams
- Develop change roadmap focused on capability building, not just delivery milestones
- Establish effective backlog prioritisation methodology tailored to the organisation
Qualifications
- Proven track record of turning around at least one underperforming product team with measurable outcomes
- Experience identifying and reducing late-stage delivery risks with concrete examples
- Clear methodology for backlog prioritisation that you can articulate and adapt
- Track record of implementing lightweight agile practices in organisations suffering from process bloat
- Consultancy or turnaround experience working at pace in complex environments
- Experience working on single products long enough to see sustained improvement (depth over breadth)
- Background working in brownfield environments where agile practices need retrofitting
