Solution Architect to take ownership of two related workstreams within an initial 3‑month engagement. Both workstreams require retrospective documentation of live systems and forward‑looking design work. You must be comfortable challenging existing approaches constructively while building consensus among stakeholders across business units and vendors.

Workstream 1: eInvoicing Solution Architecture

This is a regulatory eInvoicing project that is already live, but the architecture was not really completed. There are no High‑Level Design (HLD) or Low‑Level Design (LLD) documentation. The system is about to be rolled out across approximately 30 European entities, but currently, only 20% of Europe is transacting through the platform. There is a concern that the system could fail at scale, particularly as international variations in regulatory requirements have not been fully considered.

Deliverables

  • High‑Level Design (HLD) document
  • Low‑Level Design (LLD) document
  • Gap analysis of the existing design
  • Documentation of international/country variants and their requirements
  • Rejection handling design (invoice flow back to ERP)
  • ETL strategy recommendation (rationalise vs. support multiple)
  • Scalability assessment and recommendations
  • Support model recommendations

The second work stream is focused on the replacement of an automation product, details to follow.

Qualifications

  • Proven Solution Architect with data platform/integration architecture background
  • AWS experience (files land in AWS, AWS Data Warehouse)
  • Integration architecture experience – Boomi and/or similar iPaaS platforms
  • Ability to assess and recommend ETL tooling strategy (familiarity with tools like IBM DataStage)
  • Experience designing for resilience, scalability, and supportability
  • Strong documentation skills – comfortable producing HLD and LLD artefacts
  • Experience working across multiple stakeholder groups and divisions
