You’re an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor who wants a role with variety, responsibility and influence. You might already be operating at Associate or Associate Director level, or you may be a strong Senior Building Surveyor ready to step up.

This role would suit someone who enjoys the full mix of commercial building surveying: contract administration, project management, dilapidations, technical due diligence, defect diagnosis, planned maintenance, licence to alter work and client-facing advice.

You’ll be joining a respected property consultancy with a strong pipeline of commercial instructions across offices, industrial, logistics, retail and mixed-use property. The work is varied, commercially focused and genuinely hands-on.

The role:

  • Contract administration on refurbishment, repair and improvement projects
  • Specification writing, tendering and JCT contract management
  • Dilapidations, schedules of condition and licence to alter work
  • Defect diagnosis inspections and technical reporting
  • Planned maintenance programmes and budget appraisals
  • Technical due diligence and pre-acquisition surveys
  • Landlord and tenant advisory work
  • Insurance reinstatement and reinstatement cost assessments
  • Client meetings, fee proposals and project reporting

You’ll also play a key role in supporting junior surveyors, reviewing work, helping with APC development and contributing to the wider growth of the team.

Why it could suit you:

This is a role for someone who wants more than just report writing. You’ll be trusted to lead instructions, advise clients directly, manage your own workload and influence how projects are delivered. You’ll work closely with senior leaders in the business, while also having the opportunity to develop client relationships, win new work and shape the direction of the building surveying team.

The company is particularly interested in people with experience across commercial property, industrial estates, offices, retail, business parks, refurbishment projects or landlord-side instructions.

What you’ll need:

  • MRICS qualification
  • Strong commercial building surveying experience
  • Good understanding of JCT contracts and contract administration
  • Experience with dilapidations, defect analysis and technical reports
  • Confidence dealing directly with clients, landlords, tenants and consultants
  • Ability to manage projects from initial brief through to completion
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior surveyors would be useful
  • A practical, commercially aware approach to building surveying

What’s on offer:

  • £85,000-£95,000 depending on experience
  • Senior-level position with real responsibility
  • Varied commercial property workload
  • Clear progression within the building surveying team
  • Opportunity to manage clients and win work
  • Supportive team environment
  • Hybrid working options
  • Good benefits package + strong bonus!

This would suit a Chartered Building Surveyor who enjoys both professional work and project delivery and wants a role where they can take ownership rather than be boxed into one narrow service line.
