Birmingham
An established, employee-owned design practice is hiring an Architectural Technologist to join its growing Birmingham studio.
Smaller team, big-practice backing. The kind of setup where you'd actually know everyone, directly influence how the office runs, and not spend your career invisible inside a large corporate machine.
Up to 3 days a week from home, flexible start and finish times, and a sensible approach to how work fits around life.
The work spans public and private sector projects, with a varied sector mix that keeps the day-to-day interesting.
You're joining at a genuinely exciting point for the Birmingham studio: a growing team, a strong pipeline, and the chance to help shape the culture of the office as it scales.
The Architectural Technologist role, day to day:
- Producing technical drawing packages and project information across live schemes.
- Coordinating with architects, consultants and contractors through the technical stages.
- Applying UK Building Regulations, the Building Safety Act and CDM requirements.
- Supporting delivery across both public and private sector briefs.
- Contributing to detailing and buildability decisions on live projects.
What we're looking for in this Architectural Technologist:
- Relevant qualifications (CIAT or similar) and a few years of UK practice experience.
- Working knowledge of UK Building Regulations and technical detailing.
- Confident coordinating with other disciplines and communicating clearly.
- Organised, self-starting, and comfortable managing your own workload across multiple projects.
Why this Architectural Technologist role in Birmingham is worth a look:
- Smaller team, big-practice backing. Direct access to leadership, visible impact, no corporate layers to disappear into.
- Employee-owned structure, with tax-free bonuses paid out each of the last few years on top of competitive salaries.
- Up to 3 days a week from home, flexible start and finish times.
- Growing Birmingham studio with a strong central location.
- Public and private sector projects, so a broad range of work to get stuck into.
- The chance to help shape the culture of the office as it scales up.
