Assistant Quantity Surveyor

£30,000 – £35,000 DOE + chartership support
Are you looking to take the next step in your quantity surveying career with a company that genuinely invests in your development? This is a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor with around 1 year of consultancy experience (or a strong placement year) to join a well-established team working on a broad range of projects across residential, commercial, and infrastructure sectors. You’ll be based in the Southwest, with a strong pipeline of work and the support of experienced professionals committed to helping you grow.
In this role, you’ll work closely with senior surveyors on projects ranging from £500k to £20m, gaining hands-on experience in cost planning, procurement, valuations, and project financial control. From preparing estimates and supporting subcontractor procurement to tracking project costs and assisting with final accounts, you’ll be fully involved in all aspects of the project lifecycle. It’s a collaborative environment where your input is valued, and your progression is a priority.

The Role:
- Supporting with cost estimates, tender documents, and contract administration
- Assisting in the procurement of subcontractors, suppliers, and materials
- Monitoring project costs and preparing regular valuations and reports
- Helping to manage variations, payments, and final accounts
- Liaising with clients, consultants, and site teams to ensure smooth project delivery
- Maintaining accurate records and assisting with risk and change management
The Person:
