BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Test Managers to join Project Eagle programme on an 24 month FTC.

The Test Manager is responsible for defining and executing the overall testing strategy for the ERP Programme, ensuring all solution components, from processes to integrations, are thoroughly tested and validated before deployment.

The role covers planning, coordination, execution oversight, defect management, reporting, and driving alignment across multiple workstreams and business teams.

The Test Manager ensures testing activities meet quality standards, business requirements, and programme timelines for a successful go-live.

  • Test Strategy & Planning
  • Develop and own the programme-wide test strategy, approach, and governance.
  • Define test phases including unit testing (UT), system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), regression testing, performance testing, and cutover validation.
  • Prepare the master test plan, including scope, timelines, environments, entry/exit criteria, resources, and tools.
  • Ensure alignment with project management, business process owners, data, and technical leads.
  • 2. Test Management & Execution Oversight
  • Coordinate testing activities across the programme.
  • Oversee test execution for SIT, UAT, and regression cycles, ensuring progress against plan.
  • Manage test data requirements, test environments, and preconditions for each phase.
  • Review and approve test scripts, test scenarios, and acceptance criteria.
  • 3. Defect & Risk Management
  • Establish and manage defect triage processes, ensuring timely prioritisation and resolution.
  • Maintain RAID logs for test-related risks and issues.
  • Communicate critical defects and risks to programme leadership team.
  • Ensure root cause analysis and quality improvements are implemented.
  • 4. Stakeholder Engagement
  • Act as the central communication point for all test-related matters.
  • Engage regularly with business testers, functional consultants, technical teams, and programme managers.
  • Provide regular test status reporting, dashboards, and quality metrics to governance bodies.
  • 5. Governance, Standards & Continuous Improvement
  • Enforce testing standards, methodologies, and quality assurance frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory obligations.
  • Drive continuous improvement in testing practices, automation opportunities, and documentation quality.
  • Support the development of a long-term testing capability and test governance framework beyond the programme.
  • 6. Go-Live Readiness & Hypercare Support
  • Support cutover planning and readiness assessments by validating test completion criteria.
  • Ensure final functional, technical, and integration validations are completed before go-live.
  • Provide oversight during hypercare and ensure stabilisation activities are supported

What do you bring to the role?

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience as a Test Manager or Senior Test Lead in complex programmes.
  • Hands‑on experience delivering test cycles within ERP transformations (ideally SAP S/4HANA, ECC, or major enterprise platforms).
  • Strong understanding of test methodologies, planning, defect management, and quality governance.
  • Experience managing SIT, UAT, regression, and performance testing cycles.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi‑vendor and cross‑functional test teams.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and reporting skills.
  • Experience identifying, tracking, and mitigating risks in complex testing environments.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with test automation frameworks and performance testing tools.
  • Knowledge of integration testing concepts (APIs, middleware, interfaces, data flows).
  • Experience with data migration validation, reconciliation testing, and cutover testing.
