We are seeking a motivated and talented Degree‑Level Apprentice Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Gateshead. As an apprentice you’ll gain hands‑on experience through practical challenges, guided learning, and ongoing support to help you build confidence and capability from the very start of your career.
Engineering Learning & Development- Work under supervision to learn the fundamentals of mechanical engineering, marine systems and industry standards.
- Show enthusiasm for participating in engineering, manufacturing, projects and service functions.
- Complete all apprenticeship academic requirements, assignments and assessments on schedule.
- Assist in preparing drawings, assemblies and 3D CAD models.
- Support creation and management of BOMs.
- Produce reports, manuals and test procedures.
- Perform engineering calculations (stress, load, material selection).
- Participate in design reviews.
- Work with senior engineers on mechanical assemblies and rotating machinery.
- Assist in troubleshooting and problem‑solving.
- Contribute to estimating and delivering work packages.
- Apply company processes, QMS and change control.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Support tender activities.

Minimum Qualifications- GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above).
- Level 3 qualification or higher, ideally in engineering or related field.

- Good time‑management and organisational skills.
- Clear and confident communication.
