We are seeking a motivated and detail-driven Integrated Product Support (IPS) Engineer to join our engineering team. IPS (formerly known as ILS) is a core discipline within our naval stabiliser product line, ensuring that equipment is effective, supportable, maintainable, and reliable throughout the system life, thereby ensuring it is supported safely and efficiently.
In this role, you will support the development, preparation, and delivery of IPS engineering outputs across multiple projects. This includes provisioning data, maintenance analysis, codification, spares modelling, technical documentation inputs, and reliability-support activities and associated engineering support tasks. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the IPS Technical Lead; initially focusing on well-developed IPS packages before progressing toward independent ownership of deliverables as experience grows. The role offers a clear development path toward higher-level IPS engineering responsibilities.
What you will be doing:
- Support the creation, preparation, and maintenance of IPS deliverables, including:
- Provisioning Parts Breakdowns (PPBs)
- Maintenance Task Analyses (MTAs) and associated maintenance instructions
- Recommended Spare Parts Lists
- Technical Publications (Operation & Maintenance Manuals, Parts Catalogues)
- Reliability inputs (e.g., Part source data, NPRD lookup, Engineering justification)
We think you should have:
- Technical background in engineering, maintenance, manufacturing, or a related field (degree or equivalent experience).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, part lists, and technical information.
- A strong analytical mindset: can demonstrate the ability to think in a structured, systems-orientated way – understanding how components, functions and failure modes (via FMEA/FMECA) interact across a wider system.
- Competence in structured data handling (e.g., Excel, attribute sheets, registers).
- Clear and concise written communication skills for producing part descriptions, technical notes, and IPS documentation.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to follow structured engineering processes and elevate uncertainties appropriately.
- Adaptable to evolving business processes and IPS governance standards, with the ability to adjust workflows and practices as the organisation improves its process maturity.
- Self-motivated, with good teamwork and communication skills.
- Prior experience in any IPS/ILS discipline (e.g., PPB creation, codification, technical manual inputs, maintenance analysis).
- Understanding of naval or marine systems (or complex engineered products).
- Familiarity with reliability and support engineering principles.
- Experience working with BoMs, configuration management systems, or engineering data platforms.
- Knowledge of NATO codification.
- Knowledge of S-Series standards.
- Interest in developing toward ARM (Availability, Reliability & Maintainability) case study work and supporting deeper reliability analyses over time.
- Ability to grow into customer-support roles as competence develops.
You are able to:
- Adhere to company rules and procedures and execute plans with commitment and determination.
- Analyse complex issues and problems and come up with rational judgments.
- Produce fresh and imaginative ideas and solutions.
- Communicate in a clear, precise and structured way.
- Co-operate well with others, share knowledge, experience, information and support others in the pursuit of team goals.
An exciting and important position working for the world-leading supplier of maritime solutions. Be part of a diverse team spread across several countries, embracing collaboration and cultural diversity. Competitive pay and benefits, including attractive insurance policies and pension schemes. We offer hybrid working arrangements.
