About the position
We are a fast-paced industrial manufacturer specialising in PTFE hose solutions, supplying demanding markets where quality, reliability, and compliance are critical. We are seeking an experienced Engineering Maintenance & Facilities Manager to lead our maintenance function, drive continuous improvement, and ensure the ongoing reliability, safety, and compliance of our equipment and facilities. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing a team of maintenance engineers, controlling budgets, delivering projects, and embedding best-in-class maintenance practices across the site.
Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of Maintenance Engineers to support production in a high-throughput manufacturing environment.
- Manage and continuously improve the system of routine equipment maintenance and statutory safety checks.
- Ensure all equipment and machinery comply with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) and Supply of Machinery Regulations.
- Ensure buildings, facilities, and site activities meet all health, safety, and environmental legislation.
- Lead Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives and chair TPM improvement teams.
- Ensure sufficient skilled resources and shift coverage are in place to respond effectively to breakdowns and minimise downtime.
- Develop, monitor, and report maintenance KPIs, including Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).
- Identify, manage, and maintain adequate levels of critical spare parts.
- Ensure the maintenance team is fully competent, trained, and capable of meeting current and future production demands.
- Plan and deliver maintenance and facilities projects on time and to budget.
- Own and control the maintenance budget, driving cost efficiency without compromising safety or reliability.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Maintenance or Engineering Management role within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Excellent working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, ideally within process or polymer manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of PUWER, machinery safety regulations, and HSE requirements.
- Demonstrated experience implementing TPM or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong leadership, planning, and organisational skills.
- Experience managing maintenance KPIs, budgets, and engineering projects.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and the ability to be both proactive and reactive.
