Konexo Financial Services are supporting a financial services client with a specialist review linked to HMRC pensions compliance. We are looking for an experienced consultant who can support a shadow audit and provide a detailed gap analysis against HMRC requirements for registered pension schemes.
What we are looking for
• Strong background in HMRC pensions tax, either from HMRC, a pension provider, SIPP operator, life company, or within a risk and compliance function
• Experience conducting gap analyses or internal readiness reviews linked to HMRC audits
• Strong understanding of scheme administrator duties, Finance Act 2004 requirements, the Pension Tax Manual, relief at source rules, unauthorised payments, event reporting, AFT returns, and governance expectations
• Ability to assess current operational controls, identify weaknesses, and provide practical recommendations
• Experience reviewing risk models and scoring across areas such as tax relief risk, reporting risk, governance and record keeping, unauthorised payments, fraud indicators, and intelligence risk factors
• Comfortable working with stakeholders and presenting clear findings and actions
About the work
This is a focused 3-month advisory assignment, supporting the client to understand how well their existing controls align to HMRC expectations ahead of a potential audit. You will review documentation, processes, and evidence, and produce a high quality gap analysis with clear risk ratings and recommended actions.
