The Opportunity
We are supporting a leading banking client in the appointment of a Financial Crime Business Analyst to support the delivery of a significant Economic Crime programme.
Working closely with permanent team members and key programme stakeholders, the successful candidate will play a critical role in documenting and enhancing financial crime processes across the first line of defence.
The initial focus will be on procedure development, process mapping and facilitating discovery workshops to identify opportunities for operational improvement.
We are looking to speak with experienced Business Analysts who combine strong BA fundamentals with a deep understanding of Financial Crime frameworks, controls and regulatory requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is comfortable engaging with stakeholders, challenging existing processes and driving meaningful change within a complex banking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of the bank's Economic Crime programme.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to gather, document and analyse requirements.
- Develop and document procedures for First Line of Defence (1LOD) teams.
- Facilitate discovery workshops to understand current state processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Create process maps, gap analyses and business requirements documentation.
- Partner with Financial Crime, Compliance and Operational teams to document target-state processes.
- Assess and challenge existing controls, processes and operating models where appropriate.
- Support the implementation of process improvement initiatives across Financial Crime operations.
- Track actions, dependencies and risks across programme workstreams.
- Produce high-quality documentation suitable for governance and stakeholder review.
- Engage with senior stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of programme objectives.
Experience Required
- Demonstrable experience working as a
Business Analyst within Financial Services .
- Strong understanding of
Financial Crime, AML, KYC, Sanctions and Economic Crime frameworks .
- Experience supporting Financial Crime transformation, remediation or change programmes.
- Proven ability to facilitate workshops, gather requirements and document business processes.
- Experience creating procedures, process maps and operating model documentation.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
- Excellent analytical, documentation and communication skills.
- Experience working within a complex banking environment.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with programme stakeholders.
Previous banking experience is essential.
Available to work 3 days per week in the Birmingham office.
Available to start at short notice or immediately.
