About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of commercial activities across high-value data centre projects in the UK and Europe. This is a key role offering both project-level responsibility and the opportunity to influence commercial strategy as the business continues to grow. You will manage project financial performance, oversee contractual processes, and support risk management, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver strong commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full commercial lifecycle of projects, from procurement through to final account
  • Ensure strong financial control, including cash flow, cost forecasting, and performance reporting
  • Oversee subcontractor accounts, including negotiation, valuation, and payment processes
  • Review and manage contractual documentation, ensuring compliance with obligations and identifying risks
  • Lead on variation management, claims, and commercial recovery strategies
  • Support dispute resolution and negotiate with clients and subcontractors as required
  • Provide cost planning advice and contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, project teams, and stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Education background in Quantity Surveying is essential
  • Proven experience in a Senior or Project Quantity Surveyor role within construction
  • Experience in data centres, industrial, or commercial construction environments (preferred)
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to manage complex projects
  • Solid understanding of contract management and commercial processes
  • Experience with FIDIC or similar contract frameworks (strong advantage)
  • Background or exposure to contracts, legal frameworks, or risk identification (highly desirable)
  • Ability to identify contractual risks, interpret terms, and flag potential issues early
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • High attention to detail with strong reporting and organisational capabilities
