Overview

UK Specialist Technician role at Konecranes. The growing Waste to Energy (WtE) market is a key area for future company growth. This is a UK‑wide role; willingness to travel and stay away from home regularly is required, but we can be flexible on location.

Responsibilities

  • National support to ICS in the setup and commissioning of new Waste to Energy cranes, Smart cranes, and compilation and verification of final test and commissioning supporting data.
  • Monitoring following handover to support customer operations.
  • Technical support for the local branch Service Technicians.
  • Training and competence review of the local branch Service Technicians.
  • Liaise with the WtE customers and other National WtE Specialists.
  • Liaise with WtE Service Manager regarding the WtE customers nationwide.
  • Keeping up to date with key WtE PLC/automation and inverter product changes and GTS.
  • Lead Tech on any major modification/modernisation of the WtE cranes nationwide.

Qualifications

  • Experience and knowledge of overhead cranes.
  • Electrically qualified – minimum of Level 3.
  • Prepared to undertake training in UK/Germany.
  • Willingness to regularly travel throughout the UK.
  • Work additional overtime hours when necessary.
  • Mechanical understanding / Fabrication skills.
  • Understanding of process inverters and Siemens Simatic Manager.
  • Safety conscious.
