The People & Communications team enables business performance and competitiveness through engaged and capable people, strong reputation management, impactful internal and external communications and great employee experience. We bring KONE’s strategy to life, supporting competence, capability and culture development as well as strengthening the KONE purpose and company story for all our stakeholders.
This is a one‑year fixed‑term assignment due to parental leave. The purpose of this role is to develop and implement KONE’s global strategies for employee benefits, retirement, well‑being and flexible working, ensuring they meet current and future business needs, support internal equity and external competitiveness, and strengthen employee engagement.
In this role, you will work closely with business and HR leaders to design, maintain and continuously improve a holistic portfolio of programs and processes, including retirement and profit‑sharing schemes, group medical, disability and life plans, the global well‑being program (Elevate Your Health), and KONE’s flexible working policy and practices. This position is based in Europe, preferably in Finland or the UK, and reports to the People & Communications Senior Vice President, Performance & Reward.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide guidance and support to area and local reward and well‑being professionals to ensure that KONE's employee benefit, retirement and well‑being strategies are implemented effectively and that all Units comply with all relevant regulations, laws and employment standards.
- Liaise with Area and Local units to develop and implement local employee benefit, retirement and well‑being strategies that are appropriate for their business needs, but consistent with the organization's overall strategy.
- Work closely with colleagues from finance, risk management and sourcing to develop an approach to employee benefits and retirement that controls costs, appropriately manages risks and maximises employee value.
- Work with the global safety and risk management teams to develop and implement an approach to well‑being and safety based on prevention.
- Develop and implement an approach to flexible working that supports KONE's business and workforce needs.
- Develop and implement training and communication material and ensure all retirement, employee benefit, well‑being and flexible working changes are communicated clearly to all recipients in line with the KONE Total Reward communication approach.
- Select and manage ongoing relationships with external consultants and suppliers (for example; benefits consultants, brokers, trustees, and necessary legal assistance) to ensure the organization receives satisfactory standards of service.
- A key member of the KONE Retirement Committee that ensures the associated costs, risks and value are managed consistently across KONE and in line with the overall reward strategy.
- A member of the KONE Performance and Reward Management Team who define the future direction of reward and recognition in KONE and review the success and opportunities in the current environment.
Requirements for the Role
- Experience in benefits, retirement and wellbeing programs — Proven ability to design, implement and manage benefit and well‑being programs.
- Experience in global brokerage management.
- Capability to develop global strategies — Experience creating holistic benefit and well‑being strategies aligned with business needs.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management — Ability to partner with business and HR leaders across regions and influence decision‑making.
- Cost and risk management expertise — Skilled in balancing competitiveness, cost control and risk mitigation.
- Well‑being and prevention approach experience — Familiarity with well‑being frameworks and safety‑related collaboration.
- Excellent communication and training skills — Ability to create clear communication materials and training content.
- Vendor and consultant management — Experience selecting, managing and evaluating external partners.
- Background in global reward teams — Ability to contribute to global reward strategy and governance (e.g., retirement committees).
- Relevant academic degree — M.Sc. or Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience.
- Full professional proficiency in English.
