The Europe Financial Controlling Uplift Project at KONE is a strategic initiative designed to enhance the efficiency, quality, and scalability of financial controlling operations across Europe. The project brings together process improvements, harmonised ways of working, and specialised expertise to support business growth and evolving finance requirements.

Location

This position can be located to any KONE office in advertised countries with Finance Operations.

About The Role

We are looking for a Financial Controller to join the newly established M&A Center of Excellence. In this role, you will act as a key finance partner to the global M&A team, ensuring accurate accounting and reporting for M&A transactions. You will play an important role in defining IFRS 3 accounting treatments, supporting post‑acquisition system integrations as a Finance subject matter expert, and managing internal merger accounting activities. You will also work closely with external stakeholders, Group Reporting, and other global process owners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage accounting topics related to IFRS 3
  • Manage accounting entries for M&A activities, including local GAAP adjustments
  • Collaborate with KONE Business Services to ensure correct transaction recognition
  • Contribute to monthly and quarterly closing of consolidated financials
  • Support transformation initiatives as a Finance process Champion
  • Manage internal merger projects from a financial reporting perspective
  • Contribute to the development of M&A‑related finance processes, solutions, and internal controls
  • Support Group and statutory audits related to M&A accounting topics

What We Are Looking For

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Around 4–7 years of in‑depth experience in finance, preferably in an international environment or Big4
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and ability to translate accounting standards into practical applications
  • Experience with ERP or accounting systems (SAP is highly valued)
  • Analytical and forward‑looking mindset with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong collaboration, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to partner with the business, provide insights, and translate accounting topics into practical solutions
  • Interest in financial modelling or automation is a plus
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
  • Fluent English; other European languages are an advantage
