The Europe Financial Controlling Uplift Project at KONE is a strategic initiative designed to enhance the efficiency, quality, and scalability of financial controlling operations across Europe. The project brings together process improvements, harmonised ways of working, and specialised expertise to support business growth and evolving finance requirements. A key element of the initiative is the establishment of Centers of Excellence, which will drive best practices, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement across Europe Financial Controlling at KONE.

As the R2R CoE Team Lead, you will lead a team of R2R Controllers and partner closely with Finance teams across Europe to deliver high‑quality accounting, reporting, and control processes within the Record‑to‑Report (R2R) domain. You will play a key role in ensuring statutory compliance, process harmonisation, and continuous improvement, while supporting Finance teams by taking ownership of selected accounting and reporting activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of R2R CoE Controllers, fostering a high‑performing and collaborative environment
  • Ensure statutory financial statements are prepared and filed on time in line with applicable requirements
  • Ensure alignment between local GAAP and IFRS reporting, including accurate handling of differences
  • Collaborate with Finance teams, shared services, and external providers on statutory compliance matters
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliation and control execution, ensuring adherence to policies and escalating issues when needed
  • Support and coordinate external audits (statutory and group)
  • Drive adherence to the internal controls framework and lead continuous improvement actions
  • Partner with stakeholders to resolve R2R process topics and promote harmonised ways of working
  • Act as a key point of contact for Finance Controllers and external partners on statutory and compliance topics
  • Contribute to governance forums and support the ongoing development of closing processes and R2R practices

What We Are Looking For

  • Around 7+ years of in‑depth experience in financial accounting, reporting, and compliance
  • Strong experience in leading cross‑border finance teams and driving performance
  • Deep expertise in IFRS, with good understanding of other GAAP frameworks
  • Strong understanding of end‑to‑end finance processes and harmonisation principles
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP)
  • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills
  • Ability to lead change, manage complexity, and navigate competing priorities
  • A proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with a hands‑on approach
  • Fluent English; additional languages are an advantage
