The Carbon Lead is responsible for strengthening the frontline’s capability to support customers with sustainability and carbon-related requirements across the building lifecycle locally. The role reports to the Head of Sustainability CoE in the Global Sustainability Team. It is a customer-facing sustainability role that works closely with sales teams to support business growth, respond to customer sustainability expectations, and ensure high-quality delivery of sustainability-related documents and reporting. The role acts as the first point of contact for local sales and Customer Solution Engineering (CSE) teams in customer projects with sustainability requirements and helps translate KONE’s sustainability capabilities into clear customer value.
Key responsibilities:
- Act as the first contact point to sales teams within your frontline in customers’ sustainability needs and support them in customer discussions and tenders.
- Enhance proactive sustainability selling in frontlines by supporting sales teams to translate customers’ sustainability strategies, carbon targets, and green building requirements into customer-ready sustainability narratives, actions and supporting material.
- Build and run a local carbon community within the frontline to share learnings and continuously raise capability to serve customer needs.
- Ensure that customer expectations are met in the delivery of sustainability-related engineering work expected from frontlines, including energy and operational carbon calculations for A-process solutions and green building scheme compliance checks.
- Work in close alignment with KONE’s global sustainability principles, methods, and targets.
- Align with sales strategy, regularly engage with customers in new opportunities, ongoing projects, and workshops through both face-to-face and virtual meetings.
Key Qualifications And Experience:
- Strong commercial and customer-facing mindset, with the ability to turn sustainability into clear business value.
- 5+ years' experience collaborating with customers ideally on sustainability topics (carbon, energy, green building, or other sustainability areas) or relevant education in sustainability, environmental engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to work independently while staying aligned with KONE’s global sustainability principles, methods, and targets.
- Influencing and capability-building skills.
- Capability to provide specialist guidance and deliver workshops to sales and CSE teams and related external partners on KONE sustainability.
- Presentation and coordination skills.
- Fluent in written & spoken English.
