The Key Account Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth, retention, and strategic partnerships between KONE and our customers at a senior level. This role serves as the main point of contact, negotiating complex contracts, leading long-term account strategies, and overseeing client satisfaction to maximise profitability with lifts and escalators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities (cross-selling/upselling) within existing accounts.
- Create and manage sales leads and opportunities in your customer base with the account teams.
- Share customer knowledge and contacts to support other account team members to win business.
- Create value propositions with clearly described benefits of KONE solutions for customer’s needs.
- Accountable for national or frame agreements and managing the customer’s contract portfolio.
- Develop the profitability of the customers’ business with KONE according to the account plan.
- Develop market intelligence and customer insight to develop credibility and a competitive advantage.
- Canvass new business whilst ensuring you retain and grow existing accounts.
- Negotiate and renew contracts.
- Collaborate with operational service teams to help coordinate service completions on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Account Management or Business Development is essential.
- Ability to develop high-level relationships between the customers' companies at a senior level and deal with escalations.
- A Sales background is desirable.
- Demonstrated success in managing high-value portfolios and achieving revenue targets.
- Strong analytical skills to analyse complex business problems and develop effective, long-term solutions.
- Mastering customer contacts, presentations, and negotiations, closing deals, tendering process, aftersales activities, and good knowledge of contractual and financial terms.
- Experience in maintaining and developing existing customer accounts.
- Ability to communicate features, advantages, benefits, and value to different customers’ needs and tailor KONE solutions accordingly.
- Ability to build rapport and collaborate with others within KONE and externally and drive performance/delivery.
- Aptitude in networking and building relationships at all levels.
- Adaptability and strong problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills together with good written and spoken English.
- Preference for Salesforce, SAP knowledge is desirable.
- Good IT skills.
