Overview We are seeking an ambitious, commercially focused, and hands-on Sales Manager to lead our high performing sales team. People management is key and this is a leadership role for someone who thrives in a customer-facing environment and enjoys being actively involved in winning business, developing people, and driving commercial performance. As well as setting the strategy, you will lead from the front by working alongside your team, supporting key customer meetings, coaching sales professionals, and helping secure major opportunities. You will be responsible for delivering regional sales growth, improving profitability, developing strategic customer relationships, and building a high-performing sales culture that consistently exceeds expectations. Reporting into the Regional Director of North & Midlands, you will be part of the North & Midlands Leadership Team and play a key role in shaping regional success while collaborating closely with colleagues across the wider business. Ideally, you'll be based between Birmingham and Glasgow to support customers and teams across the region.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
Build, lead, coach, and develop a high-performing multi-skilled sales team. Create a culture of accountability, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Conduct regular one-to-one coaching sessions focused on performance and development. Set clear goals and expectations while holding individuals accountable for results. Develop succession plans and build future leadership capability within the team. Foster an inclusive and engaging environment where individuals can perform at their best.
Drive Sales Growth and Commercial Performance
Take ownership of regional sales performance, delivering agreed targets for orders, revenue, profitability, market share, and value-added services. Lead the sales team to secure new business opportunities while maximising growth within existing accounts. Maintain a strong personal presence with customers, supporting key negotiations and major sales opportunities. Drive a proactive and disciplined sales culture focused on activity, pipeline generation, conversion rates, and commercial outcomes. Balance sales growth with strong margin and pricing management. Identify opportunities to increase market penetration and develop new customer relationships. Champion the promotion and sale of KONE's digital and value-added solutions.
Lead from the Front
Accompany team members on customer visits where necessary, supporting development and helping secure strategic opportunities. Provide real-time coaching and guidance throughout the sales process. Actively participate in regional business development initiatives and key account planning. Maintain visibility across the sales funnel and personally support critical opportunities when required. Share best practices and demonstrate high standards of customer engagement and solution selling.
Customer Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, decision-makers, consultants, developers, contractors, and key influencers. Support the growth and retention of strategic key accounts. Drive customer satisfaction, loyalty, and long-term partnerships. Engage senior stakeholders and executives to strengthen KONE's market position. Ensure customer needs are fully understood and translated into value-based solutions.
Sales Planning and Pipeline Management
Develop and execute Regional Sales Plans and Individual Sales Plans. Lead sales forecasting, opportunity management, and pipeline reviews. Ensure CRM accuracy and high standards of sales discipline across the team. Use market intelligence, customer insights, and competitor analysis to inform decision‑making. Drive accountability for sales activity, opportunity progression, and conversion performance.
