Purpose
The Materials Coordinator is responsible for sourcing, ordering, expediting and managing the delivery of parts for lifts and escalators required to support both in-service and out-of-service equipment. Working closely with Service Engineers, Service Management and other key stakeholders and suppliers, this role provides a critical function across the GB & Ireland Service operation. The role is essential in ensuring parts are available when required, enabling engineers to complete repairs and maintenance visits efficiently and effectively.
Key responsibilities
- Sourcing and ordering parts for service requirements.
- Managing urgent requests for equipment that is out of service.
- Liaising with suppliers to obtain best lead times.
- Ensuring the most cost-effective sourcing solutions are utilised.
- Supporting engineers in the field to minimise delays.
- Contributing to equipment uptime and service delivery performance.
- Act as first point of contact for customers inquiries regarding spare parts.
Key skills & experiences
- Experience in inventory management, procurement, or logistics (parts is desirable).
- Previous customer service/office/administrative experience is essential.
- Good organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Collaborative team player.
- Good Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience of work in SAP, Salesforce is desirable.
