KONE is seeking a skilled and reliable Escalator Engineer to join our night‑shift service team covering London and the wider M25 area. This role focuses on escalator maintenance, repairs, and call‑out response, ensuring equipment remains safe, compliant, and fully operational. The position requires strong technical expertise, a proactive approach to problem‑solving, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality service in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out preventive maintenance on escalators in accordance with KONE standards and industry regulations
- Perform diagnostic work, repairs, and component replacements to ensure safe and reliable operation
- Respond to call‑outs and breakdowns during night shifts, providing timely and effective solutions
- Complete all required service reports, documentation, and compliance checks
- Work collaboratively with the wider KONE service team to support escalator performance across the region
- Identify potential upgrade or modernization opportunities
- Participate in the on‑call rota (1 in every 5 weeks) — this is a mandatory requirement
Qualifications & Experience
- NVQ Level 3 in Escalator Engineering (essential)
- Proven escalator maintenance and repair experience
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and service manuals
- Full UK driving licence
- Excellent fault‑finding skills and a safety‑first mindset
