Our clients rely on dedicated, professional care staff to ensure their safety, assist with clinical interventions as per their care plans, and help them engage with their local communities.

As a Rapid Response Care Assistant, you will be at the forefront of supporting individuals during crucial transitions, such as hospital discharges, crisis management, and care package adjustments. This role demands quick thinking, flexibility, and a compassionate approach as you provide exceptional care to individuals with a wide range of complex needs, including spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, locked‑in syndrome, rehabilitation, and motor neurone disease. In addition to delivering high‑quality clinical care, your duties may involve assisting clients with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, eating and toileting, as well as helping with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide responsive care during hospital discharges, emergencies and care package breakdowns.
  • Keep clinical skills current through ongoing training and development.
  • Deliver personalised care to clients with complex needs, including spinal cord injury, brain injury, motor neurone disease and more.
  • Assist with personal care tasks (washing, dressing, eating, toileting) and provide safe lifting, transferring and repositioning support.
  • Maintain a calm and professional approach in challenging or high‑pressure situations.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (travel nationally up to a 2 hour radius and occasional overnight stays, fully reimbursed).
  • Previous experience in a care environment or a similar role.
  • Resilience to stay calm and professional during challenging situations.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g. CQC standards, health and safety).

Desirable:

  • Experience in supporting clients with complex needs.
  • NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care.

Additional Information

  • Enhanced DBS check required: A full and satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check is a condition of employment.
  • Probationary Period: 6 months, during which regular reviews and 1:1 meetings will be held by your manager.
  • Training: A 6‑day paid induction course at your local office, paid at minimum wage. Additional eLearning modules, also paid at minimum wage.
  • Mileage reimbursed at £0.28 per mile from the first mile, and travel ticket expenses are also covered.
  • Shifts & Flexibility: Rotational shifts covering days, nights, weekends and bank holidays to ensure full coverage. Flexibility in working hours may be required based on client needs and staffing arrangements.
  • Annual Leave: Accrues over time; leave cannot be taken during the two‑week Christmas period. Bank holidays, Christmas and New Year are worked on a rota basis to ensure fairness across the team.
  • 24‑Hour Support Line: Access to a 24‑hour support line, including clinical advice for emergency situations.

Location: Komplex Care Limited, clients' homes, with travel required to other locations at the discretion of the company and with prior notice.

Employment Offer Conditions

All offers of employment are subject to satisfactory onboarding checks, including DBS, references, availability and induction. Your availability must remain consistent throughout your employment; any changes should be communicated in writing to your line manager.
