Responsibilities

  • Supporting individuals with essential daily tasks such as cooking, personal care, cleaning, and budgeting
  • Encouraging independence and building confidence through meaningful activities and community access
  • Being a calm, reliable presence during difficult times, offering emotional reassurance and structure
  • Promoting routines and relationships that help people feel safe, respected, and included
  • Monitoring and recording progress, recognising and celebrating small wins every day
  • Working regular 12‑hour shifts — including waking nights — to provide consistent and high‑quality care

Qualifications

  • A full UK (manual) driving licence
  • A minimum of one year’s experience working in care or support (desirable)
  • Compassion, resilience, and emotional intelligence
  • Confidence working with individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and behaviours that challenge
  • Basic IT skills for communication and record‑keeping
  • Flexibility to work across services in Shropshire and Staffordshire
  • A team‑first attitude and commitment to delivering person‑centred care
