Your Role as a Support Worker
You will be part of a dedicated, hands‑on team supporting individuals with a range of complex needs such as autism, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, and challenging behaviour. Your goal is to help them live safely and independently in their own homes. Your work will have a direct and lasting impact.
Responsibilities
- Support individuals with essential daily tasks such as cooking, personal care, cleaning and budgeting.
- Encourage independence and build confidence through meaningful activities and community access.
- Provide a calm, reliable presence during difficult times, offering emotional reassurance and structure.
- Promote routines and relationships that help people feel safe, respected and included.
- Monitor and record progress, recognising and celebrating small wins every day.
- Work regular 12‑hour shifts, including waking nights, to provide consistent and high‑quality care.
What We’re Looking For
- Full UK (manual) driving licence.
- Minimum of one year’s experience working in care or support (desirable).
- Compassion, resilience and emotional intelligence.
- Confidence working with individuals with learning disabilities, autism and behaviours that challenge.
- Basic IT skills for communication and record‑keeping.
- Flexibility to work across services in Shropshire and Staffordshire.
- A team‑first attitude and commitment to delivering person‑centred care.
