Your Role as a Support Worker

You\’ll be part of a dedicated, hands-on team supporting individuals with a range of complex needs such as Autism, Learning disabilities, Mental health conditions, & Challenging behaviour. To help the individual live safely and independently in their own homes. Your work will make a direct and lasting impact.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting individuals with essential daily tasks such as cooking, personal care, cleaning, and budgeting
  • Encouraging independence and building confidence through meaningful activities and community access
  • Being a calm, reliable presence during difficult times, offering emotional reassurance and structure
  • Promoting routines and relationships that help people feel safe, respected, and included
  • Monitoring and recording progress, recognising and celebrating small wins every day
  • Working regular 12-hour shifts – including waking nights – to provide consistent and high-quality care

What We\’re Looking For

  • A Full UK (manual) driving licence
  • A minimum of one year\’s experience working in care or support (desirable)
  • Compassion, resilience, and emotional intelligence
  • Confidence working with individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and behaviours that challenge
  • Basic IT skills for communication and record-keeping
  • Flexibility to work across services in Shropshire and Staffordshire
  • A team-first attitude and commitment to delivering person-centred care

Additional Information

  • This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references. All criminal convictions, including spent ones, must be declared.
